Communications Specialist (Part-Time)

I. Job Summary

The Communications Specialist will promote Able to Serve’s mission and vision to existing and prospective donors, and existing and prospective families through strategic use channels such as print, online, social media, blogs, and other promotional means.

The Communication Specialist will manage their areas of responsibilities, and collectively working with the leadership team to successfully achieve Marketing & Fundraising initiatives that align with the Able to Serve’s 3-5 Year plan.

II. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and implement strategies across various platforms to share our organizations key messages and engage target audiences.
  • Write, edit, and proofread content for various communications/marketing channels, including website, email, print, and social media.
  • Brainstorm and develop print and/or electronic materials to encourage donor engagement/improve fundraising/inspire individuals to join our program(participant & volunteer) and recommend design and content ideas.
  • Assist with targeted donor relations communications.
  • Composes draft speeches & scripts for videos/events.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to measure & analyzing the data related to website traffic, social media analytics, and email campaign analytics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

III. Qualifications and Skills

  • Associate’s degree in Communications, or related field/experience
  • One to Three years of related experience, portfolio of relevant projects is highly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Canva, Constant Contact and/or related software
  • Ability to quickly learn and use analytical tools within software such as Constant Contact, Google Analytics, social media, etc.

The Communications Specialist position is an on-site position, part-time, 24 hours a week.
