Opening Ceremonies Set the Tone
Tuesday, April 29th was a beautiful day and the perfect setting as our community came together for the Third Annual ATS Games, a day filled with joy, achievement, and the true spirit of sportsmanship that defines the Able to Serve family.
The day began with a heartwarming Opening Ceremony that captured the essence of this special event. Athletes from the Grace, Hope, Joy, and Faith groups proudly marched through the crowd, each carrying their beautifully crafted team banners. The atmosphere was full of energy as Ryan led everyone in the National Anthem, officially marking the beginning of the games.
Athletes Showcase Their Talents
What followed was a remarkable display of determination and ability as our participant athletes competed in a variety of events: walking, running softball throw and bocce ball.
Throughout each competition, what stood out most wasn’t just the athletic performance, but the genuine support participants showed for one another. Cheers echoed across the field as athletes celebrated not only their own achievements but those of their peers as well. This supportive and caring environment has come to characterize the Able to Serve community – a place where everyone’s abilities are recognized and celebrated.
Community Support Makes It Possible
This event wouldn’t be possible without community support. The team from Charles Ashley Mann, DDS thoughtfully provided water bottles to keep our athletes hydrated throughout the day and cheered them on. When lunchtime arrived, everyone enjoyed delicious deli sandwiches generously provided by one of our parents, Victoria A.
Our enthusiastic staff, dedicated volunteers, supportive parents, and an energetic cheerleading squad maintained high spirits from the first event to the last.
Dance Party and Awards Finale
Following lunch, the celebration continued with a dance party! The dance party provided the perfect conclusion to the games. Participant athletes and supporters gathered for a special awards ceremony to recognize the achievements of the day.
To our amazing participant athletes – congratulations! Your determination, sportsmanship, and joy were an inspiration to everyone present.
The Third Annual ATS Games wasn’t just about competition; it was a powerful reminder of what makes our community special: the celebration of every individual’s unique abilities and the unbreakable bonds that form when we come together to support one another.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s games and the new memories we’ll create together!
