We MADE WAVES at Bible Camp 2022!

We had a wonderful week learning about how what we do today can change the world around us! Bible Camp is one week of the year where we spend the entire week focused on learning truths from scripture, learning fantastic songs, playing crazy games, eating lots of good food, and having fun with our friends. Participants & volunteers are welcome to come every day of the week, regardless of the regular days they usually attend.

Our Theme this year was “Make Waves.” On Monday, we discovered that God made people with a purpose. Each of us is made in the image of God, and we can ‘make waves’ by sharing God’s love in our own unique way.

On Tuesday, we discussed that Jesus invited people to follow Him. Jesus is inviting US to follow Him too. He’s inviting us to live His way and show His love daily. On Wednesday, we talked about all that Jesus did FOR us, when He died on the cross and came back to life. We can trust Jesus with our lives. On Thursday, we discovered the new purpose Jesus gave His disciples, and it’s the same for us today: love others the way Jesus loves you. And on Friday, we saw the difference God’s Spirit can make in our lives when we put our trust in Jesus. Overall, we learned how God can help you change the world around you. Our Theme Verse for the week was John 7:38, which says, “Whoever believes in me . . . rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

We could not do Bible Camp without the support of our churches! We invite a group to volunteer with us each year to help make this week a success. This year Pastor Joshua Johnston and the Fairview Baptist Church team rocked some mighty waves with their excellent service every day! From greeting participants as they drove up, working alongside participants, building friendships, setting & cleaning up, helping lead activities, and lots more. They truly let the love of Jesus shine through them.

Our stomachs were also full every day – thanks to the groups who provided lunch each day for our participants! We want to thank the following for providing the delicious meals & joining us this past week!

“I had an awesome time at Bible camp this week. We got to learn about God and his purpose and love for us and how we can better love those around us and share Jesus with others. We had fun with missions, Bible study, games, lunch, music, snacks and crafts, and of course, dressing up for all the special days (beach hat day, surfer day, tacky tourist day, fisherman day, and finally Hawaiian day). My favorite part was probably getting to see and hang out with all my friends, even those I don’t usually see often. This past week, I began learning how to trust God more and more. I have been having some anxiety issues lately. So, it helps to know that God is with me, loves me, and will walk with me and protect me. Thank you to Able to Serve, those who helped volunteer, and all my friends who helped encourage me.”
