Summer is not complete without our favorite week of the year – Bible Camp! Camille, an ATS participant, shares, “This week was something I needed. I’ve been going through some spiritual things lately, but this week helped me to grow closer to the Lord more than ever.”
The opportunity to come every day of the week, allowed Camille to meet new friends & build relationships with people she doesn’t see on a normal basis. She is extra grateful because these people have become good friends! One of her favorite songs of the week was The Only Way to Heaven because as she exclaims, “Jesus IS the only way and there is no other way to get to there. I can’t wait for what God has in store for me in Heaven!”
At Bible Camp, the Gospel was shared as participants dived into scripture through Bible study, worship rally, recreation, snacks, music, crafts, & missions! Our theme was Breaker Rock Beach, where we were challenged to discover that God’s truth never changes, everyone needs Jesus, and how to speak the truth in love. Our Motto was: God’s Truth Never Changes! Throughout the week, we studied and memorized, Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
Each day our mission’s focus was on Operation Christmas Child. We learned how this project demonstrates God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Samaritan’s Purse partners with local churches worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations. Able to Serve participants collected and packed over 50 boxes and still have more to put together this fall before National Collection Week in November!
We are so thankful for everyone who was a part of this incredible week! This week truly encouraged, challenged, and equipped our participants, volunteers, & staff to grow deeper in their relationships with Christ!
