We want to give a huge thanks to Adeline and Ali, from Girl Scout Troop #1289, for generously sharing their time, talents, and creativity with Able to Serve throughout the summer! What started as a project more than a year ago turned into a meaningful opportunity to serve our organization and make a lasting difference in our space.
Throughout the summer, the girls worked on several projects to give our campus some extra care and special touches. They implemented these plans throughout the summer by giving our picnic tables some much-needed TLC- staining them and helping them look refreshed and ready to be enjoyed. They also built three beautiful planters and a bookshelf, adding character to our space. Some participants even had the opportunity to help plant flowers in the planters. Overall, each project was thoughtfully planned and completed with the goal of creating something that would benefit our participants and staff for years to come.
But the impact of this project goes far beyond the finished products. It represents more than a year of planning, preparation, and hard work by the troop. The girls had the opportunity to identify a need, develop a plan, gather the necessary materials, and see their ideas come to life through hands-on service. Their commitment is a wonderful example of what can happen when people use their gifts and abilities to serve others.
This past Friday, Adeline and Ali visited Able to Serve to share their project with our participants. They talked about the work they had completed and the journey it took to bring their ideas from the planning stages to reality. Our participants enjoyed hearing about their experience and learning more about the time and effort that went into each part of the project.
For Able to Serve, it was especially meaningful to see the girls not only serve our organization, but also take the time to connect with our participants and share their experience. Their visit created an opportunity for our participants to celebrate the completed projects and recognize the people behind them.
We are incredibly grateful to Girl Scout Troop #1289 for choosing to invest their time, energy, and talents into Able to Serve. Their generosity has helped make our campus a more welcoming and enjoyable place for our participants, while their example reminds us of the impact that intentional service can have on a community.
Thank you, Adeline and Ali, for serving with purpose and for leaving a lasting mark on Able to Serve! We are so grateful for all the time, thought, and heart you put into this project. We can’t wait to enjoy these special additions for years to come!
