Celebrating our Mom’s

Celebrating the Incredible Women Who Love & Support Our Participants

There was so much joy, laughter, a few heartfelt tears, and lots of love shared at this year’s Able to Serve Mother’s Day Brunch on May 5th, 2026!

Over 60 moms and women who are incredible supporters of our participants joined us for this special annual celebration.

The brunch was more than just a meal — it was an opportunity for these amazing women to connect, build friendships, encourage one another, and simply be celebrated for all they do each and every day. It was a refreshing morning filled with smiles, conversation, and meaningful moments together as we honored the ladies who pour so much love into the lives of our participants.

One mom shared that this was the very first Mother’s Day gathering she had ever attended and expressed how grateful she was for the opportunity to simply be encouraged and celebrated. Moments like that are a beautiful reminder of how meaningful community and connection can be.

From the pink tablecloths to the flowers and thoughtful personal touches throughout the room, every detail helped create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A special thank you goes to the incredible team of moms who planned and organized this event so beautifully: Angie Yilling, Ruth Sanders, Lisa Stanley, Jan Salhoff, Judy Parker, and Kay Beasley. Thank you for creating a space & event filled with love, encouragement, and blessing for the women of our Able to Serve family.

We were also honored to hear an encouraging message from ATS Board Member Kimberly Davis, who shared about the many “jobs” and roles moms carry every single day. From caregiver and encourager to advocate, chauffeur, teacher, nurse, planner, and so much more — moms wear countless hats while pouring themselves into the lives of those they love. Kimberly reminded each woman in the room that while the job of motherhood can feel overwhelming at times, everything we do is ultimately for the best Boss of all — Christ Jesus. She challenged each mom to remember that God has uniquely equipped them with His strength, love, grace, and purpose for the calling He has placed on their lives.

Toward the end of the brunch, participants joined the celebration to spend time with their moms and the special women in their lives. There were lots of smiles, hugs, pictures, and sweet moments shared together. Participants also presented special seashell gifts they had personally designed and decorated as a small reminder of their love and appreciation. Each shell was unique — just like the relationships they represented.

We are so thankful for every mom, grandmother, sister, caregiver, and woman who faithfully supports and loves our participants so well. Your impact reaches far beyond what you may ever fully see, and our Able to Serve community is stronger because of you.

A heartfelt thank you as well to Lord of Life Lutheran Church for hosting this wonderful event and for their incredible hospitality. Their team provided a delicious meal and welcomed everyone with such kindness and joy.

Thank you also to our incredible community for supporting Able to Serve and helping create meaningful memories and moments like this for the families we serve. Events like the Mother’s Day Brunch are a beautiful reminder of the power of community, and it is made possible because of you.

What a special day celebrating the women who love and support our participants so well!
