Gardening is a Year-Round Adventure

Last year at this time, our participants planted flowers, and they grew to be a beautiful addition to the property! Vegetables were also planted, and everyone was so excited to harvest them at the end of the growing season!

We continued into the fall season by planting cool-season flowers, radishes, and carrots — with flowers blooming and carrots ready to harvest in early May. Our warm-season annuals and are eagerly awaiting for them to start growing!

The participants have been so enthusiastic about working in the garden. Their weekly participation encourages life skills that include learning how to plant and care for flowers and vegetables while enjoying the beauty of nature. We appreciate Mrs. Sheri Hovey’s hard work with the participants to develop these life skills, and we just LOVE her!
